Weston Fury Soccer Club -- Program Overview

Developmental Programming

Player development will occur throughout the year via twice weekly practices with team or Academy group, Fury Play Days, Cross training as well tournament and league play.

Players are expected to wear their Fury practice uniforms when training.

WFSC Academy is for our U9 and U10 players. Practices are held twice weekly once in their respective teams and once as an academy group with all the coaches helping players with the practice theme.

Fury Play Days are exactly that; players responding to a competitive environment. No instruction and no parental intervention. The key is ownership for organization and performance. Teams are comprised of mixed ages, robin play is organized and players go to the Championship game.

Cross Training

1. When the fields are closed. Just because it is raining development does not have to stop! Our players are put through their paces in mixed age and gender groups so you could see a U9 academy player working alongside a U11 in a cross training environment involving strength, agility, sprint / speed work, jump rope exercises, fast footwork, plyometrics, bounding and more. This environment fosters a club spirit, provides leadership opportunities for players and builds a mentality.

2. Players are selected through on going coach evaluation to train with other teams across age groups and genders. It’s all about constantly stretching players and taking them out of their comfort zone. This may involve scheduled weekly training sessions, "playing up" an age group in friendly games, guest playing with an older team in league or tournament competition. There’s also the incredible opportunity for girls in our club to experience competing with and against boys.

League Play

All WSC teams are placed in division that best suit their needs for player development. Regular season play is for just that, player development. The technical staff goal is to prepare teams for Region A Cup, Florida State Cup, Region III and Nationals. Tournament Play

All WSC teams are continuously evaluated so that they can placed in an arena that allows them to grow as players. The goals are to select tournaments that provide the most suitable competition, that we can attend as an entire club and to showcase players.

Tournaments may be entered as preparation for the up coming season, some for developmental opportunities and others will be entered with the purpose of winning the event.

Guest Play

As a club we do not encourage guest play for other clubs, an exception may occur if it is for a college showcase event that we are not attending. All guest play must be approved by the Technical Director after consultaltion with with the boys or girls director.

Transfers

WFSC will not except players already carded to another local FYSA club during the season. Please see our Tryout page for further information.
