Of the six teams, Weston’s U13 boys coached by Alvin James have enjoyed the most success this season, securing their spot at the finals this past weekend. They continue on to the North American Finals, November 16 – 20 as the top seed from the Southeast division.
The side had one game remaining in the U13 boys Southeast Division heading into the weekend. A match with Florida Soccer Alliance the Fury needed to secure their berth in the league finals. They came through in style with a 7-0 victory on the road in Orlando vs. FSA. The team finished top of their group and have the most points in the Southeast division, 31 points through 13 games scoring 56 goals while allowing only nine. Their final record was 10-2-1.
“This is an outstanding group of young men,” said James. “The boys are very committed and train hard to maintain and improve their ability to play premier-level soccer. We always want to face the best competition and are looking forward to facing just that at the North American Finals.”
The SYL North American finals will include 140 youth teams from the United States and Canada ages U13 to U17. The league finals are set to begin on Friday, November 16th and conclude on Tuesday, November 20th.
