Welcome to the Weston FC Player Development Program!
We are thrilled to have your child participate in this program. Over this summer the PDP staff has been hard at work developing the program for this upcoming season. Many of you probably have many questions about how the year will go.
Our plan is to have a meeting before the start of the season. An overview of the program will be given at that time and the PDP staff will be able to answer your questions at that point. This is the first year of our program so as you can imagine much work is being done to get ready for this upcoming season. We believe that the PDP will enable kids at this age level develop into knowledgeable and tactically sound soccer players.
The PDP is an alternative to the traditional recreational and travel team programs. It offers kids the opportunity for advanced development in soccer through a progressive and sophisticated curriculum and unique academy structure.
The PDP is structured so that players train in age group pools and on their respective team. This unique structure provides maximum opportunity for players to develop solid fundamentals as individuals while progressing into a team environment. The PDP is committed to providing the correct environment and structure to create a well-rounded, competitive ready player. Teams will not be formed until the initial stages of the program have been completed.. We want to give all children an opportunity to establish themselves as well as to give the staff an opportunity to evaluate their development.
The PDP will follow a training curriculum that is innovative, challenging, and FUN. The unique structure of the PDP and the distinctive nature of the curriculum are conducive to optimum player development. The objective of the curriculum is to develop each of the four components of a player: Technical, Tactical, Psychological, and Physical in a progressive and age appropriate manner.
The PDP is a challenging and rewarding experience for the players involved and serves as a bridge to higher levels of soccer. The PDP Staff are licensed coaches that pride themselves on providing a FUN & SAFE learning environment that facilitates player growth and passion for the game. Please be advised that our goal is to develop players to their full potential at their appropriate pace.
