Weston FC Technical Staff Boys Program
Under the direction of Technical Director Carlos Parra, Director of Boys  Development Victor Pastora and Boys Program Director Leo Vega, Weston FC is proud to have assembled an elite group of coaches comprising the Boys coaching staff. This technical team has experience at the Olympic, Professional, NCAA, Regional ODP and State level.  The WFC staff includes coaches who hold their USSF "A", "B", "C", & "D" National Licenses, State D & E Licenses, National Youth Licenses, and many others who have been being awarded the NSCAA Advanced National Diploma.  Under the direction of our Program Directors, our coaches enable WFC teams to compete in Premier Divisions in SFU, State Leagues, Region Leagues, and in nationally recognized tournaments through out the country. These include Atlanta Cup, CASL Shootout and Showcase, Jefferson Cup, Las Vegas Showcase, Manchester Cup, and Texas Shootout. Our male athletes are strongly encouraged to participate in ODP and ID2, as the club looks to expand their soccer experiences.  As our players and families make decisions that will affect the rest of their lives, our aim is to utilize the extensive knowledge and insight our staff possesses to assist players with their future decisions.  Providing continuing education for players and parents is fundamental to the Club’s programming.


Carlos Parra – Technical Director    
As the Technical Director for the Weston FC Premier Program, Carlos Parra is responsible for setting the technical direction for the Premier coaching staff across the Girls and Boys Programs. Carlos’ extensive playing experience, coupled with his coaching experience and certifications make Carlos a great asset to our club. Coach Carlos is fluent in English and Spanish. Leo Vega - Boys Program Director    
Leo is responsible for providing oversight, guidance and direction to the Boys Premier coaching staff.. Leo’s commitment to sharing his knowledge with the coaching staff is instrumental to the success of our program. He is fluent in English, & Spanish. Alvin James - Head Coach
Alvin is a former Ft Lauderdale Striker (NASL) and Jamaican National team player. He is one of the original members of the Weston FC coaching staff and was instrumental in the success of the club’s 86/87 Premier Boys team who were ranked as one of the top teams in the country and narrowly missed out on the National Championship in 2004 finishing as runners up. Several players under James’ mentoring have gone on to play NCAA Division 1 soccer in college. Alvin holds a USSF “B” License. Coach Alvin can be contacted at alfa_romeo55@hotmail.com

Ivan Alarcon - Head Coach
Ivan joined Weston FC in 2007. He has coached at various youth levels and continues to expand his coaching experience. Ivan brings playing experience at both the youth and collegiate level. Andres Bolivar - Head Coach
Andres joined Weston FC in 2005 with great energy. Having played all his life Andres is keen to make the transition into coaching as he has a strong desire to pass on his wealth of knowledge about the beautiful game. Bolivar’s playing career saw him compete in many of the most prestigious youth tournaments across the country which allows him to connect with the players at their level. Brandon Collins - Head Coach   
Brandon joined Weston FC as a coach in 2008. He has been a serious student of the game all of his life, having grown up playing in the South Florida area. Brandon graduated from nationally ranked Carson Newman College where he made two consecutive NCAA championship appearances and earned his Sports Management degree. After returning to South Florida, he began his coaching career at Archbishop McCarthy High School where he currently coaches both the Varsity and JV Boys soccer teams. Brandon holds an "D" Coaching license and an Advanced USASA license. Giuseppe “Joe” DePalo - Head Coach
Joe joined Weston FC in 2008 and is entering his 11th season as the head Mens Soccer Coach at Nova Southeastern University. DePalo has become the winningest coach in NSU Mens Soccer history with an overall record of 105-55-16. In addition, DePalo’s career winning percentage of 64.2% ranks him among the top active NCAA Division II coaches in the country. The Sharks 3-2 OT win vs. Saint Leo on Sept 15th, 2007 marked DePalo’s 100th career win at NSU. In the process, he surpassed Thomas Rongen (current USA U-20 National Team coach) who held a 50-35-6 record at NSU from 1991-1995. In 1995, DePalo signed his first professional contract with the Connecticut Wolves of the USL. He also spent time with the Canton Invaders, and Tampa Bay Terror of the NPSL. His additional clubs include the Albany Alleycats, and New Hampshire Phantoms of the USL. During his time in the USL, DePalo was a participant in the prestigious US Open Cup. He holds a USSF "A" License, as well as a Premier License from the NSCAA. Joe has also been selected as a member of the NSCAA Coaching Associate Staff. Hector Gonzalez - Head Coach    
Hector has been a loyal servant to Weston FC for many years. He provides a unique passion for the game and has coached at a variety levels within our program. In the 2009-10 season, Hector led the U18 Boys Nike team to the State Cup Finalists Title and will be representing the State of Florida in the Region III Cup.  Hector can be reached at ht13gl@aol.com


Robert Hedge - Head Coach
Robert joined Weston FC in 2007. He has been coaching for the several years at the recreational and club level. Hedge grew up playing soccer and is now a student of the game, always looking to continue his coaching education. For the 2009 season, Coach Robert coached the U10 Nike and U11 Swoosh teams. Pedro Magallanes - Head Coach
Pedro is recognized as one of the area’s top motivators of aspiring young soccer players. He rejoined Weston FC in 2009. Pedro played in the 1st Division Professional League for 15 years. He also played for Argentinos Junior’s Soccer Club from 1980 – 1981 with International Super Star Diego Maradona and played for the Argentina National Team in 1984. Pedro was a player and coach for the Ft. Lauderdale Strikers from 1989-1992, including during their Championship Season. He was also a player and assistant coach for the Miami Fusion in 1997. Pedro has participated in many soccer clinics with coaches like Thomas Rongen, “Nene” Cubillas, and Carlos “Pibe” Valderrama. He has also been a trainer for the N.C. Fredy Merico - Head Coach
Fredy has been coaching for over 12 years and the last 3 years with Weston FC.  He earned his "E " coaching license and attended several specialty courses.   He played competitive soccer for over 12 years in St Louis, MO and played varsity soccer in Washington University, where he graduated with an MBA in international business.   fredymerico@msn.com

Victor Musa - Head Coach    
Coach Musa has over 11 Years of Coaching experience from U 11 to U18 Boys teams. This includes: (2009-Present) Assistant Coach for Broward College Men’s Team, - Coaching Staff for US Developmental Academy U-17/18 Boys, -Coaching Staff for the Pre –Academy U-14/15 for Weston FC, -Coach for U-18 Boys Premier State Cup team at Weston FC. (2007-2009) Coach for U-16 & U-17 Boys at Sunrise SC Soccer Club, (2003-2007) Coach at South Florida Soccer 4-Kids Academy and many others. As a player, Coach Musa has professional experience as a member of the Ft. Lauderdale Strikers (USISL 1995- 1997), Florida Stars ( USISL 1995-1996), Topez FC , Haitian Semi –Pro League (1991-1995), Haitian National All Star Team, which played throughout the US Territory & Caribbean (1991-1995), Trained with Stade de Reims , in Reims, France , Division II (1989 ).

Sergio Pereyra - Goal Keeping Direcor    
Sergio joined Weston FC in 2008 and has vast experience in Latin American Soccer. He has played for Belgrado de Cordoba’s first team in Argentina from 1974 to 1977. In 1978 they were the Argentinian Champions. From 1978 to 1984, Sergio played for the first division General Paz Junior. In 1984-1985 and 1987 his team won the CNI Iquitos, Peruvian Championship. Sergio played for Club Correcaminos Ciudad Victoria, Tamaulipas, Mexico in 1988, Alianza del Salvador in San Salvador in 1989, Deportivo del Monte, Guatemala in 1990, Audaz Obtubrino Machala, Ecuador in 1991, and Mannucci de Trujillo, Club Carlos A. Louis Salamanca - Head Coach    
Louis joined Weston FC in 2009. He grew up playing soccer in Colombia and played on Millonarios, under the direction of Garincha, Head coach of Millonarios Youth Team. Louis played four years of college soccer at CW Post. In 2006, he was the Administrator for the ODP USL National Team and traveled to Zurich, Switzerland with the Super Y League 1991 Select Team, while they represented the U.S. successfully at the Swiss U16 Cup. Luis has been involved with the younger boys program in Weston where he brings knowledge and experience to the team and each individual player. Errol Spence - Head Coach    
Errol Joined Weston FC in 2008 working primarily with younger teams. He grew up playing competitively in Jamaica before coming to the United States to further his education and continued to play college soccer for Barry University. For the 2008-09 season, he coached the Weston FC U13 Boys Nike team, leading them to the Region A Division 1 championship and President’s Cup Finalists. For the 2009-10 season Errol coached the U10 Boys Premier, leading them to several tournament Championships and Finalists Titles, such as Atlanta Cup, Region A Cup, Disney Memorial Shoot-Out, Wellington Shoot Out and others.  He also coached the U13 Boys Premier, which achieved the S.F.U.
