Fury U13 Boys Nike President's Cup Finalists
March 28-29, 2009
The Fury U-13 Boys played Blackwatch Rangers U-13 Boys from Region C in the semi-final of the President’s Cup Tournament this past weekend. The game conditions were difficult as it was very windy day. The Fury eventually prevailed over the Black Watch team winning 4-3. In the finals, the Fury played Creeks Clash U-13 Boys from Region B and while the game was very competitive, eventually Creeks Clash prevailed.

Fury U13 Boys Nike Region A Cup Division 1 Champions

After the group play round of the U-13 Region A Cup division 1, the Fury U-13 Nike team were faced with a penalty kick shootout with JCC North Miami Maccabi for a semi-final spot. The fury U-13 goalie Thomas McGuire was simply outstanding saving 2 of the four penalties taken by Maccabi sending the Fury into the quarter-finals with a 2-0 win.
The Fury U-13 Nike team was then dominant in a 4-0 win over Cutler Ridge Soccer in the semi-finals. In the finals the Fury faced Palm Beach Hornets and after a closely contested match with the score tied 0-0 at the end of extra time penalty kicks were required to determine the winner. Both teams scored on their first four penalty kicks. In the fifth round of penalty kicks, the Fury scored and with Palm Beach Hornets needing to score their penalty to continue the contest, Thomas McGuire, the Fury goalie, pulled of a fine save diving to his right to block the penalty ensuring the Fury with a victory.

Fury U13 Boys Nike Win the West Pines Kick Off Classic

Coming back from a 2nd place win at the Goal to Goal Tournament in Boca Raton the weekend of 10/18 - 10/19, the Boys U13 Nike team won the Championship in the Black Division at this past weekend’s 12th Annual WPU Kickoff Classic on October 25th & October 26th.
The first game in the morning against Coral Springs Storm, resulted in a 1 - 1 tie. Next, facing a strong opponent, the Kendall Soccer Coalition, the Weston Nike team had a 2 - 1 win. The next day the boys played against the Cooper City Cobras, with another 3 - 1 victory which placed them in to the afternoon final with a match against the Pinecrest Premier Panthers. With great teamwork and effort on the both the boys and Coaches part, the U13 Team won the Championship against Pinecrest with an astounding 3 - 1 victory.
