Weston Fury U13 Boys Premier Champions

The Weston U13 Boys Premier team won the South Florida United Youth Soccer Association League Division 1 post season championship. The boys had a remarkable season with an 11-1-2 record that granted them the first place going into the playoffs. They played the fourth seed Team Boca in the semi-finals. The game started off with a 1-0 lead by Team Boca but a header from Weston’s Ricardo Castro tied the game and moved it into overtime which saw Rhys Williams scored the winning goal for Weston, finishing with a 2-1 score.
 
The final was played the next day versus South Florida Elite. Nikki Pappacena opened the scoreboard early in the first half and Jonathan Nunes added one more for the Fury but South Florida Elite came back to tie the match. The Fury responded and claimed the championship when Javier Clavijo scored the winning goal from a free kick.
 
This was the second straight victory for this team in two consecutive weekends. The boys also won the Weston Invitational Premier Division defeating Naples Sharks 3-1 in the final with two goals by Ricardo Castro and one from Jorge Torres-Martin.
