Welcome to the 2010-2011 Weston FC tryouts
Tryouts for all age groups will be held at Vista Park, 18800 Vista Park Blvd. in Weston. The dates of tryouts are Tuesday, June 1, 2010 through Friday, June 4th, 2010 plus Saturday, June 5th, 2010 for Boys and Saturday, June 12th, 2010 for Girls. Please check the schedule posted on the web site, www.westonsoccer.net, for the specific dates and times for each age group.
Tryouts are open to everyone. All current WFC players (Academy, Pre-Academy, Premier and Competitive) must attend tryouts to be considered for placement in next year’s program.
If a player is evaluated at tryouts as being a more appropriate fit for either a competitive or premier level team, than the level they have indicated they want to tryout for, this will be communicated to their respective technical director. The technical director will then communicate this to the respective coach and the parent of the player. It is then the parent/player’s option to accept the opportunity to play at a different level or to not accept the offer.

Player Placement
Player placement is made by the respective Director of Coaching and is based on various factors including but not limited to: individual performance, age group, team needs, attitude, attendance, and potential for improvement.
All players will tryout in their respective age group on their first day of tryouts. Director of Coaching can subsequently direct otherwise.
All current Weston FC U-9 players who tryout will be offered a place on a team;either in the PDP, on a Premier or Competitive team, or on a recreational team.
All other players are subject to being selected to a team. This means that no player, regardless of their past playing experience, will be guaranteed a place on a Premier or Competitive division team.
Online Pre Registration
Players should pre register online at www.westonsoccer.net, download and complete the tryout registration form. The parent and player must sign the form and bring it to tryouts.Players will be able to indicate the specific division they desire to try out for:
· Open: Player is interested in either Premier or Competitive
· Premier: Player is interested in playing in Premier division only
· Competitive: Player is interested playing in Competitive division only
Players trying out for the Academy or the PDP should register in the Open category.
Check In and What to Bring
On the first day of tryouts, parents must accompany players to complete, sign and submit the tryout registration form, if not already done. Players should arrive at the main pavilion, located behind Fields 3 and 4, at Vista Park at least 30 minutes prior to their tryout time for the initial registration and check in. They will then be directed to the proper field.
At the initial check in players will receive a tryout number and will keep that same number throughout the entire tryout process. Players are responsible for keeping their tryout number and bringing it with them, attached to the front right leg of their shorts, for subsequent tryouts. Their number should be attached and visible on the right front leg of their shorts at all times.
Players must wear shin guards and cleats and bring water and an inflated size appropriate ball to all tryout sessions.
Team Selection and Acceptance
Once teams have been selected, players will be contacted by the team coach. Once finalized, team rosters will be posted on the website. Please check the website for updates.
Upon being offered a place on a team, players will have 48 hours to accept the offer.
After accepting a place on a Weston FC team, players will register online and information will be provided to submit the required paperwork to their team manager within three days.
If you are not selected for one of the teams within the Weston FC program, please contact our AYSO program at ayso644.org or at 954-349-9786, to see what opportunities may be available.
Thank you for your interest in Weston FC and we wish you the best of luck at tryouts!
