The Weston FC Girls Program recently held its 1st Annual Girls Showcase Event to celebrate the recent college commitments of several players as well as to recongnize girls who have played at Weston since they were U9s.
The event also served as the kickoff of the Big Sis Lil Sis program. This program bridges the Girls PDP program to the Weston FC Premier Girls Program. All U10 girls received a Big Sis from our U17 and U18 teams to help serve as mentors and sisters in soccer. This will now be a tradition at Weston FC. The night culminated with two Showcase games where our top girls teams played each other for all to watch.
Our recent “Weston FC - Premier Girls Showcase Evening”celebrated the strength of our Girls Program and commitment to our PlayerDevelopment Program (PDP), where the future stars of Weston FC are developing. The evening’s highlights were the establishment of our ”Big Sister LittleSister Program” , a celebration of our very talented older girls who havecommitted to playing at the next level in college and our acknowledgement ofthose players who have been in the Weston FC Family for their entire youth soccercareers. We have received an overwhelmingly positive response from ourmembership in the way of call and e-mails. This was a wonderful evening for ourGirls Program and I thought an appropriate time to update you on the growingstrength of the Program.

Due to an outstanding effort by Carlos Parra, Director of Coaching, with the help of Chris Nolan, Girls Program Director and our former Girls Program Director Gui Gui Ferrerier we achieved an average annual growth rate of over 15% for the past three seasons.
The above referenced growth was the result of the renewed commitment to excellence we promised to our players and their parents. We have embraced the importance of delivering the highest level of technical, physical and tactical training available. This effort has yielded significant results: many of our former players are back on our fields, we have earned the trust of former competitors who have joined our Program from the broader soccer community and we have displayed a forward thinking approach toward collaboration and strategic partnering.
Our staff has worked very, very hard to earn the respect and trust of our players and parents by delivering on our commitment to excellence. The results can be seen on the field:
Two of our teams have been invited to play in the Region 3 Premier League – this is an honor to be included to compete against the best teams in the entire Region. These teams (Premier U15 and Premier U16 Black) are not only competing they are excelling – both teams currently sit near the top of the R3PL in second place!
One of our teams has been invited to play in the United States Youth Soccer Association National League – competing against the best teams in the entire United States. Congratulations to our Sunrise/Weston FC Team – we are very proud to be associated with this group – congratulations girls!
It is highly unusual for a Club in South Florida to field two teams in the U-18 girls’ category – it is even more special for these teams to be so talented they finished their season in first and third place respectively!
We have great players in the U-17 group – our core group partnered with a talented group of players from Kendall who joined our Club this season. The result was an undefeated early season! In this age group we also have a tournament team through a partnership with MiamiLakes – this tournament team fields some of the most talented players in South Florida and will showcase for college coaches in the top tournaments in the United States.
Our U-16 Premier White team joined us from the Miami area this season – this team is tremendously talented and very well coached– finishing as Champions of Florida State League! Welcome girls - we are happy and very proud to have you representing our Club.
Some of our younger teams have not begun their seasons yet but they are LOADED with talent and we expect wonderful results from them. Our U-10s were the Melbourne Cup Champions playing in the U11 Division and our U-12s were the Champions of the Naples Shootout.
Our Player Development Program is the “jewel” of our Girls Program. Led by Chris Nolan with the help of Liz Lawson our Program has become the standard for the development of our future stars. We are confident these young girls will be more than ready to carry on the tradition of success their “Big Sisters” have established.
We have one of the top rated Girls Programs in all of Florida and growingstronger everyday. I am very proud of our girls and appreciative of ourdedicated and talented coaching staff led by Carlos Parra and Chris Nolan. Iwould also like to thank our parents for their efforts, sacrifice andcommitment. We will continue to work hard to earn your trust and loyalty. Youhave my commitment we will not rest until U.S. Soccer Federation hasestablished a GirlsDevelopmental Academyand our Weston FC – Girls Program is at the top of their list.
