Weston FC Technical Staff – Girls Program
Weston FC is proud to have assembled an elite group of coaches comprising the Girls coaching staff. This technical team has experience at the Olympic, Professional, NCAA, Regional ODP and State level.  The WFC staff includes coaches who hold their USSF "A", "B", "C", and "D" National licenses, State D & E licenses, National Youth licenses, and many others who have been awarded the NSCAA Advanced National Diploma. Under the direction of our Program Directors, our coaches enable WFC teams to compete in Premier Divisions in Flugsa, State Leagues, Region Leagues and in nationally recognized tournaments through out the country. These include Atlanta Cup, CASL Shootout and Showcase, Las Vegas Showcase, Orange Classic, Texas Shootout, and WAGS. Our female athletes are strongly encouraged to participate in ODP and ID2, as the club looks to expand their soccer experiences.  As our players and families make decisions that will affect the rest of their lives, our aim is to utilize the extensive knowledge and insight our staff possesses to assist players with their future decisions.  Providing continuing education for players and parents is fundamental to the Club’s programming.

Carlos Parra – Technical Director    
As the Technical Director for the Weston FC Premier Program, Carlos Parra is responsible for setting the technical direction for the Premier coaching staff across the Girls and Boys Programs. Carlos’ extensive playing experience, coupled with his coaching experience and certifications make Carlos a great asset to our club. Coach Carlos is fluent in English and Spanish. Aguinaldo “Gui Gui” Ferreira - Girls Program Director    
Coach Gui Gui is responsible for providing oversight, guidance and direction to the Premier coaching staff for the Girls program. Gui Gui’s commitment to spreading his knowledge to the coaching staff is one of the primary reasons for the success of our Girls Program. Gui Gui is a visible leader, as you will see him often in his favorite element… in front of the girls and side by side with his coaches. Coach Gui Gui is fluent in English, Spanish & Portuguese. Coach - Victor Ruiz

 
Victor Ruiz - Assistant Girls Program Director    
Weston FC is very excited to have Coach Victor with the club as Assistant Technical Director for the Girls Program. Victor’s coaching accomplishments are very impressive and national in scope; one National ODP Championship, five Region IV ODP Championships, and four State High School Championships in San Diego, California,. He has also coached ten players who have played on U.S.A. Mark Barnett – Head Coach
Mark Barnett joined the Fury coaching ranks in 2005. He comes with tremendous playing career that saw him play professionally in Colorado and Miami. He also played collegiate ball for FIU and was a member of the 1984 National Championship Team.    Patti Barney - Head Coach 
Patti has been an experienced and dedicated member of the Weston FC Girls Program staff almost since its inception. She holds a USSF National "C" License and has been coaching for 26 years at the Recreational, Club, High School and Adult levels. Patti has coached players of all ages and has been instrumental in assisting many girls with playing opportunities at the college level. She played for many years in competitive leagues and is committed to developing our youth and preparing them for collegiate level playing opportunities. Christian Goffi - Head Coach    
 
Christian brings to the club a great deal of soccer experience having had successful playing and coaching careers. Christian was a U19 National Champion and U20 National Runner Up during his youth playing career. At the college level, Christian attended Nova Southeastern University where he was recognized as a member of the Soccer All-American Team in 1997 and Player of the Year in 1998. In 2009, Christian received the honor of being inducted into the Nova Southeastern University’s Athletic Hall of Fame.

Elizabeth “Liz” Lawson - Head Coach & PDP Coordinator    
Liz has been involved with soccer in South Florida dating back to her youth playing days in Miami Lakes. She has been coaching youth soccer for over 15 years and has been coaching in Weston for the last 6 years. She holds an AYSO coaching license as well as the NSCAA Youth Diploma and holds a USSF E license. She continues to play in competitive adult soccer leagues in South Florida. Liz is a member of the Weston FC Board of Directors and is in charge of the Player Development Program for Weston FC. She is a native of South Florida, is fluent in English and Spanish and holds a BBA from the University of Miami and an MBA from Barry University. She is committed to developing young children and helping them to love the game of soccer.
 
 

 

Steve Lewis - Head Coach
Steve has been coaching youth soccer in Weston for the past 10 years. He has earned his NSCAA Advanced National Diploma, NSCAA Advanced National Youth Diploma and various other certifications. He is a member of the NSCAA, Positive Coaching Alliance and Safe Haven certified. Steve grew up in South Florida playing club soccer and has played in various adult leagues. Sean Olmo - Head Coach    
Sean Olmo has been coaching recreational and competitive youth soccer for more than ten years. He brings with him a wealth of experience having played and coached in some of the most competitive soccer programs. He has earned his FYSA "E" license, NYSCA license, Youth and Intermediate licenses and is a member of the NSCAA, Positive Coaching Alliance.

Coach - Dale Renwick

Dale Renwick - Head Coach    
 
Dale joined Weston FC in early 1998 and brings a wealth of 21 years of coaching experience on an international and national level. He is the head coach and academy director at Westminster Academy and was awarded All Broward Coach of the Year for the 2003-2004 seasons. In 2009-10 Westminster Academy won the District Championship and Dale was named Coach of the Year for the 2009-10 seasons by the South Atlantic Coast Conference (SACC).
Coach Dale has worked with players on an international level to help them achieve at their fullest potential; while assisted many players in receiving college soccer scholarships. Dale has coached many teams in his career and has won many top tournaments. He has also been successful at both the Region and State level. Dale holds a national coaching license.    Vicky Ruiz - Head Coach 
Vicky has been coaching at Weston FC since 2005 in various capacities.  Most recognized in the technical development of the younger teams on the girls side, she also helped develop formidable players on the boys side through the Future Stars, Friday Skills programs and personal training. She is also the lead coach for the Friday Skills program.  A South Florida native and competitive soccer player (All -State Team in 1989: Miami Sunse Senior High recruited by FIU and Rutgers), she attended Brevard College (NC) and help lead the team to the NJCAA National Tournament in 1990, lead the Unviersity of West Florida Women’s Soccer Program in scoring in 1991, and played for the WPSL South Florida Strikers in 2010.  In addition to private training, in the summer, she also coaches at the Nova Southeastern Unviersity Soccer Camps.  Vicky has a Bachelor of Science in Physical Education: emphasis Sport Maganement from FIU, and holds the following coaching licenses and pland on gfetting her National C in the summer of 2011: USSF/FYSA National D, and National Adult Coaching License, National Youth and Coaching Symposium Diploma in 2010.  She also holds the Dutch/Touch Soccer Academy Coaching Clinic Certificate, the NSCAA Regional Diploma Junior Level I, Junior Level VI, the NSCAA State Regional Goalkeeping Diploma Level I and Level II. Donato Sasso - Head Coach    
Coach Donato has received the NSCAA National Advanced Youth Diploma and AYSO Advance Coaching certification. Donato is also a member of NSCAA, Positive Coaching Alliance and is Safe Haven certified. Mike Sica - Head Coach    
Coach Mike has been with Weston FC. since April of 2007 and has been coaching travel soccer for the past seven years. Mike coached our U11 Girls Premier team this past season. Besides having a superb FLUGSA season, the U11 Girls won the 2010 Florida Cup in Sanford, Florida. Prior to this season, Mike was the assistant and head coach of the 94/95 Girls Premier team that won the 2008 Region III Presidents Cup. In addition to being a part of the Weston FC staff, Mike is the Head Soccer Coach for Archbishop McCarthy High School. During the summer months Mike regularly works at several college soccer camps, which include the University of Miami and University of Florida in addition to the Archbishop McCarthy camp. When Mike is not busy on the soccer field coaching he serves the community of Pembroke Pines as a firefighter and paramedic, which he has been doing for the past twenty-one plus years. Mike currently holds a USSF "C" License, USSF National Youth License, and the NSCAA Advanced Regional Diploma. Coach Mike can be contacted at msica86@aol.com

 
Juan Carlos Tobon - Head Coach    
Juan Carlos Tobon grew up in Colombia playing soccer since he was 5 years old. He played in high school and turned professional at the age of 15, playing for the 3rd Division with Club Los Millonarios. He is currently playing in the AYSO Adult league. Juan has coached girls and boys teams at AYSO for the past 5 years and holds a FYSA “E” License.

 

 

Maru Winckelmann - Head Coach    
Originally from Venezuela, Maru started coaching youth futbol as an assistant coach when she was a high school senior. After graduation she was invited to joined the coaching staff part-time while playing in local leagues and pursuing her career. In 2003 Maru moved to Weston and in 2005 resumed her coaching role. Maru has earned her FYSA “E” coaching license and this summer will attend the “D” coaching license course. She holds a Bachelors degree from Boston University in Broadcast and Film with a minor in Childhood Development and works as an editor for the Discovery Channel.
