Fury Storm Past Opponents at Countryside Tournament
The Fury 94/95 Premier Girls stormed past their opposition at the 22nd Annual Countryside Easter Tournament.

The team were placed in bracket against teams from the local Tampa area so fresh competition was guaranteed. The group contained West Pasco, HCU and hosts Countryside. In their first game the girls started slowly and then scored three quick goals in a 7 minute period to go in 3-0 at half time. The final score was 7-0. Their second game was against Hillsborough County and head coach Alan Foy, decided to mix things up a little. "Development is in part about giving players different playing experiences and we decided to play some players in some very unfamiliar positions to expose them and nurture their development". The Fury won 4-1. With a semi final birth guaranteed the Fury played hosts Countryside in 8-1 victory in their final group match.

The semi final was a Region "A" affair with opponents Palm Beach Academy finishing runner up in Group B. The game was very competitive but Weston always had an edge and by the end of third quarter they saw themselves 4-0 ahead. However PBA did not give up the fight and by pulled the score back to 4-2 by the final whistle.

The final was against a stand out Region "B" East Lake Arsenal. The first half saw the Fury take a 1-0 lead but East Lake pulled it level soon after with a great finish from their No9. The Fury pushed on a secured a 2-1 lead to take into half time. In the second half the Fury stepped up the level of play and went onto score a further 4 goals to secure the Championship with a 6-1 victory.

I was very pleased with our level of play this weekend; we played a new formation, exposed many of our players to new positions and had some wonderful ideas about the game. Said Head Coach Alan Foy.
